All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE)

The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) under a National Policy on Education envisage conducting a common entrance examination on all India basis for admission to professional and technical programmes in the country. For admission to engineering, pharmacy and architecture/planning programmes, Government of India has laid down a Three - Exam Scheme (JEE and AIEEE at the National Level and the State Level Engineering Entrance Examinations (SLEEE) for State Level Institutions - with an option to join AIEEE). This takes care of varying admission standards in these programmes and helps in maintenance of professional standards. This also solves problems of overlaps and reduce physical, mental and financial burden on students and their parents due to multiplicity of entrance examinations.

The AIEEE offered more than 10,000 seats in hundreds of institutions, namely 20 National Institutes of Technology, 5 IIITs, 16 Self Financed Deemed Universities/Universities/Other Institutions, 9 other central/state govt. funded institutions and many other technical institutions, including state Universities through this examination. All State level institutions in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand admitted all their students on the basis of AIEEE. A centralized counselling is organized for filling up the All India seats. This year many other institutions are expected to admit students through AIEEE.

Final List of Institutions admitting students (with intake in each discipline and category as per reservation) through AIEEE could be checked in the Information Brochure
